BiOrbic launches ‘No to Waste’ competition!

By Amanda Mathieson | 03/06/2021

As of the 1st June, BiOrbic has launched a competition to encourage households to cut down their plastic and food waste. The competition asks participants to make efforts to reduce waste over the month of June and submit their progress in any format on social media with the hashtag ‘#biorbicpledge’. In each category, the prize of an annual family pass to Dublin Zoo is up for grabs.

The competition is based on two interactive events hosted by BiOrbic as part of UCD Festival. Life of Plastics and Life of Food explored the plastic and food waste problem through animations, interactive quizzes and talks, as well as offering households tips and ideas on how they can help. The events were a great success, receiving positive feedback from all participants.

Life of Plastics team: Tanja Narancic, Fionn McNeill, Declan Galvin, Sandra Bulawa

Life of Food team: Liina Rae, Jia-Lynn Tham, Maneesh Mediboyina, Ajay Menon, James Lyng

Congratulations to our teams for their fantastic work at the festival!

Resources from both events will be uploaded to the BiOrbic website soon.
